SBS offers several programs and services to help certified M/WBEs grow their business and successfully compete for government contracts. SBS staff will assess your business and provide a customized resource guide. Visit this room at the Procurement Fair to:

  • learn about all the programs and services available to you

  • update your profile in the NYC Online Directory of Certified Businesses

  • update your NIGP Commodity Codes in PIP

  • get a FREE digital head shot when you complete a mini business assessment form (come prepared to have your photo taken)

  • attend workshops

    • City Record On Line 101 – A tutorial on how to use this site to research contract opportunities, including registering to receive notifications about upcoming opportunities direct to your email.

    • Open Data for Market Research – Learn to use the City’s Open Data Portal to review past contract awards, identify prime contractors and increase your subcontracting success.

    • Introduction to SBS Connect – A guided tour of the City’s new online portal for MWBE certifications and recertifications. Learn to review and update your business data, plus upload and retrieve key documents.

Project Description: The Ped Ramps Program is a 29-year, $5 billion program to make an estimated 160,000 NYC street corners compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These construction contracts will require vendors able to perform in the following areas: Concrete, Sidewalk Concrete, Curb, Curb and Gutter Removal, Sidewalk Maintenance and Repair, Installation of Pedestrian Ramp.

Project Description: The Department of Sanitation is searching for vendors that can provide services including: Architectural & Engineering, Boiler Maintenance, Hazardous Waste Management, Marketing and Market Research Services, Tugboat Supply and Services, and Barge Repair.

Project Name: Student and Staff Instructional Services

Project Description: The NYCDOE provides support services for the education of more than 1.1 million students in 1,800 schools. For many services, DOE uses their Multiple Task Award Contract (MTAC) process to award contracts. DOE will use this session to discuss how vendors can enroll in MTAC and discuss various opportunities currently available.
